FAQ and Support

• Perfex CRM from version 3.1.* to the latest version is required (the app itself requires PHP 8.1+).

• Works on both standalone and SaaS (multi-tenant) Perfex installations. SaaS tenant migrations additionally require the Perfex SaaS module on both installations.

• How do I get my data out of the destination if it won't decrypt? Re-encryption must complete with the correct source key. If import was done with the wrong key, the imported values stay encoded with the export key; re-import with the correct Source Encryption Key from the export record.

• Are media files encrypted? No. Only database values are re-encrypted on import; raw media is transferred as-is inside the ZIP archive.

• Can I import files without a database dump? Yes - the dump and the archive are both optional, but at least one must be provided. A files-only import requires the destination site/tenant database to already exist.

• Do I have to remove the module when the migration is done? Yes. Instance Migrator is a migration tool and should not be left running on a live site. Once the migration is complete — or when you no longer need it — deactivate or uninstall the module from SETUP > MODULES on both the source and the destination (see Removing the module after migration in the Installation guide). Note that uninstall deletes the migration history, server pairings, and connection secrets, so download anything you need to keep first.
